<g:plusone size="medium" count="1" href="http://siteboat.com/the-secret-guide-to-solar-power-wifi-charging-for-your-gadgets/"></g:plusone>

So there’s this brand-new trend working along side our attraction with the most desirable wire-less devices [1], and it’s the proper way to keep their electric batteries 100 %. With a lot of the new pads and tablet pcs, mobile phones, and notebooks the only general problem is the most easy alternative to have them energized. I started out questioning exactly what I could do with many of these various tools and now I wonder what I would do with out them. I additionally worry nighttime if I have each one of them on their proper wires and charging up for the day ahead.

When the techie items at first hit the marketplace there were wires connected with the USB slots on the laptop. This seemed like a relatively new concept for me initially. I was a lover of the benefit that one could easily connect the unit in at nighttime while verifying e mail. The sad thing is, like a lot of things, this soon became a trouble. How can I get my product with me around the house if it has to remain connected at the laptop or computer?

Afterward came the USB wall adapter. I went shopping for one of these soon subsequently after my 1st touch screen phone decision. I needed to connect it into the wall in my bed room so I would’ve it with me during the night, but I did not have anything but the Flash recharging cable to recharge it. The next thing I realised, the wall adapter was coming with most of the devices I acquired.

Over the past months, I’ve started to study and pay attention to facts regarding wifi recharging mats. From whatever I learned in the early stages, they were necessitating particular cases for the gizmos to employ them. Just lately, this was deleted. The world of wifi recharging is going to bust wide open.

We should instead place a pin in that theme. We’ll be back soon. At this point, we must talk about the importance of alternative technology [2]. Many negative people to eco-friendly technology will point out it’s tree-hugging talk to get customers to buy more expensive devices and that it’s all an absurd effort mainly because not one of the bad consequences are really happening. Even if that is correct, the exclusively headache with that point is what number of people are in the planet. As a consequence of the number of people living on the planet and how many of them using coal and natural gas structured electrical power, we’ve started to have a complication. Now give some thought to the group of them that will have kids and the way that will boost the number of people making use of electric energy and standard fuels. The best responsible thing to try and do is for scientific knowledge to promote eco-friendly opportunities at present that can become environmentally friendly requisites later [3].

That being said, ladies and gentleman, I introduce to you the very first environmentally friendly method to charge up wire-less all your mobile or portable gizmos, Panasonic’s very new solar-powered wifi recharging table. Due to be launched at the end of this year or early 2012, the brand new table will make use of solar powered energy gained by the panels on the face of the table to charge the gadgets positioned on the table! This is basically the near future of a green photovoltaic tech that is Qi enabled.

What is Qi you ask? Qi has been developed by the wifi power trust as a normal specs to be utilized by the producers of charging gizmos, like our brand new table, and the accessories which they will charge up, such as your brand new smart phone that is touchscreen technology enabled, scans guides and has a foldout full-sized keyboard. This recent Qi expertise has only existed since the beginning of this season, but people are looking forward to quick integration and a score of item releases. The use of Qi with older wire-less accessories is certain, and we will positively be seeing and hearing more info on Panasonic’s modern solar-powered wire less recharging table and lots of other Qi facilitated chargers sooner.

If you need to explore more about solar energy and ways to integrate it in your daily life I want to propose you these other solutions:

- [1] Here you can evaluate more in detail the info about the photovoltaic table. On Youtube.com I’ve found the Japan shop 2011 tour that displays the solar power recharging table and other products and services displayed in Tokyo, Japan.

- [2] Here you can have a clear point of view on how to use solar energy to power most device’s battery packs (i.e. cell phone, vehicle batteries, etc…). If you are not able to pay the expense to set up a non commercial pv system, it might be a great 1st step to introduce you to solar panel systems. 12voltsolarpanels.net is a free blog site monitored by Hettie that provides her stories to help people make the passage from a full-time electricity dependence to a productive electricity efficiency. She presents some high quality tips on rv solar panel reviews to help mobile home enthusiasts re-charge their battery packs and study how a solar panel works to facilitate the use of solar energy panels in their properties and other items.

- [3] If you possibly can spend the money for the investment to setup solar energy panels for use on your property (or are eligible for solar tax credits or refunds), here some stories to help you learn how solar energy panels work and the ways to combine them in your life. Residentialsolarpanels.org is a non-profits blog website managed by Shannon. She is an independent article writer and practitioner on pv for residential utilization. If you ever feel the need to learn more about solar energy panels I offer you to browse this guide regarding the solar energy costs.

<g:plusone size="medium" count="1" href="http://siteboat.com/6-simple-things-you-can-do-to-save-the-earth-and-money-with-the-help-of-internet/"></g:plusone>

Internet is developing quickly and changing the ways we live. There are simple things you can do to save the Earth and money with the help of Internet. You can turn the power of Internet to cool global warming.

1-Prefer Online Shopping: If you can buy some of your needs online and stay off the road, you can reduce greenhouse gas emissions. It will save you gas and time.

2-Use Electronic Invoices: Electronic invoicing helps businesses save vast amount of paper by eliminating the need for printed invoices. Electronic invoicing can also help customers to save time to reach and pay the invoices. The true environmental cost of traditional invoicing is more than paper. The printed invoices also need ink and energy to be printed gas to be transported to the customers. So using electronic invoices will save you paper, energy, gas and time which mean money.

3- Use Second Hand Books: The Internet is a great source to search & find & buy what you need. If you are a college student, textbooks take big bite from your budget. A student spends about $1000 a year on books. To hold costs down, students are searching for new and used textbooks at online stores and marketlaces. If you want a Textbook lookup, all you need is the ISBN number of the book you’re searching. You can save money and reduce the use of paper by using used books resell the books you don’t want to keep.

4-Donate or Recycle Your Electronic Equipments: As the number of electronic equipments we own increases, management of electronic wastes becomes more important. You can learn how to donate or recycle your old electronic equipments from web sites like TechSoup.org .

5-Learn More Green Tips: Internet is an ultimate source for learning DIY and green tips. Green Living Tips and The Daily Green are only two of millions of web sites to reach green living tips and they’re all free.

6-Encourage Others To Conserve : Use all the tools of social networking; tweet, write blog posts, send emails about the environmet to share information about recycling and . For example, I try to write one tenth of my blog posts about green technology and the environment.

These 6 simple tips will help you reducing your energy use and budget which means less dependence on the fossil fuels and paper.

The story came out from an article published in The Sunday Times of London which focused on the enviromental impact of Google searches. Google responded to the article very quickly, stating a Google search is actually equals to 0.2 g of CO2 and the efforts & supports of Google to further Green energy.

Google reminds us how green it is, often since accused of being a energy hog. According to this official Google Blog post, Google engineers calculated that a cheeseburger emits as much CO2 as 15,000 Google searches and Co2 emissions of an average daily newspaper equals the amount of 850 Google searches.

Here are some other comparisons:

Activity

Google Searches

CO2 emissions of an average daily newspaper (PDF) (100% recycled paper)

850

A glass of orange juice

1,050

One load of dishes in an EnergyStar dishwasher (PDF)

5,100

A five mile trip in the average U.S. automobile

10,000

A cheeseburger

15,000

Electricity consumed by the average U.S. household in one month

3,100,000

There’s no doubt that Google is polluting the earth less than its competitors per search, but Google should take into consideration that the total number of Google searchs are mind-blowing and these numbers continue to rise at the speed of light. Google has the most efficient datacenters but nobody has more datacenters than Google.

I think the only way for Google to protect itself from future “global warmer” accusations is to generate and use noteworthy part of the energy required for its datacenters from green resources and to show that to the whole world.
For the rest of us, we should think again about eating a cheeseburger

<g:plusone size="medium" count="1" href="http://siteboat.com/green-powering-a-google-search/"></g:plusone>

As computers become a bigger part of our lives, information technology consumes an increasing amount of energy. IT technologies are responsible for 2% of the world’s CO2 emissions according to CIO insight. A 2003 study published by MIT estimated Internet usage responsible for 3% electricity consumption in the U.S. Because of the huge Internet usage growth rate (2008 Internet Usage Growth : 305.5 %) , electricity consumption of the Internet usage must double every year.

Google is the biggest player in the Internet search industry. There are 100 millions of Google search queries occur daily. This means a lot of job for Google datacenters. Data centers consumed 61 billion kilowatt- hours of power in 2006, according to a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) report last year to Congress. That’s 1.5 percent of all power consumed in the United States – at a cost of $4.5 billion. Moreover, some people don’t memorize website adresses and searches Google to reach what they want and for these people, Google = Internet. Google strives to reduce the energy consumption of its datacenters and use clean sources of electricity.

Google’s five step plan to be a crabon neutral company:

Minimize electricity used by servers

Reduce the energy used by the data center facilities themselves

Conserve precious fresh water by using recycled water instead

Reuse or recycle all electronic equipment that leaves our data centers

Engage with our peers to advance smarter energy practices

This official blog post of Google tells the energy consumption of a Google search query. In their own words:

A typical search returns results in less than 0.2 seconds.

An average search consumes 0.0003 kWh energy.

One Google search is equivalent to about 0.2 grams of CO2.

During the search, Your computer use more energy than Google uses to answer your query.

Google’s non-profit arm, Google.org invested $45 million in clean energy technologies. The world is changing and we need to take action to abolish the use of carbon based fuels. I think the abolition will be possible only when the number of giants like Google, which strive to use socially and enviromentally sustainable energy, increases. Sustainability is good, but it creates an economic advantage to Google, too: “Run the datacenters with a low energy bill”. A win-win situation…

AMEE is a web 2.0 service and provides a common platform that combines calculation, measurement, profiling, transactional systems and represents carbon emissions data from over 150 countries. AMEE’s motto describes its mission the best: “the world’s energy meter” .

Emission trading is an administrative approach used to control pollution by providing economic incentives for achieving reductions in the emissions of pollutants. It is sometimes called cap and trade (Source: Wikipedia). The Kyoto Protocol is a 1997 international treaty which came into force in 2005, which binds most developed nations to a cap and trade system for the six major greenhouse gases. Carbon trading is sometimes seen as a better approach than a direct carbon tax or direct regulation.

Emission trading is at the core of AMEE. AMEE is designed to open up data for making it easy to access by serving an API. This API helps each organisation to create their own branded front-end to their campaigns, but rely on the same standart data format. For instance, Morgan Stanley has extended their in-house CO2 calculator, built on AMEE to help their stuff to better understand their own carbon footprint, and to pledge action to reduce thie energy use and cut emissions.

Last month, Union Square Ventures, O’Reilly AlphaTech Ventures has invested in Amee and TAG together invested in AMEE. Cases like the approach of AMEE excite me very much and i see day-to-day Web Meets World more, as Tim O’Reilly says.

Google has some energy saving tips for you to save energy & money and a simple calculator with a Halloween theme to learn how much you can save up.

For example, if you use power management to put your computer to sleep automatically, you can save $40 in a year and the more importantly you can save 650 pounds of CO2 that is equivalent to not driving your car for 19 days.

But firstly, i’ll talk about what ‘Clean Energy 2030′ is.

Google continues to invest on our Earth’s future. They have had 2 energy projects, RE<C and RechargeIT we have mentioned before. ‘Clean Energy 2030′ is Google’s new project about using Clean Energy and reducing CO2 emissions. The Energy Team at Google has analysed how we could greatly reduce fossil fuel use by 2030

To the Energy Team at Google, we need immediate action on three fronts:

(1) Reduce demand by doing more with less = More Energy Efficiency

(2) Develop renewable energy that is cheaper than coal = RE<C = Solar, wind, geothermal and others…

(3) Electrify transportation and re-invent our electric grid = Plug-in cars, mass transportation and new electric transmision lines with less loss.

The cost of the Clean Energy 2030 proposal is about $4.4 trillion and savings are even greater ($5.4 trillion), returning a net savings of $1.0 trillion over the 22-year life of the plan.

You can read full article at this official google blog post.

Because of high demand world wide; the gas prices record high. We can’t abandon our cars back; so we need to find a new energy source to drive our cars. On the other hand, gas which we use in our cars is number one reason for global warming.

RechargeIT is an initiative within Google.org’s Climate Change Program aimed at accelerating the adoption of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (“plug-in hybrids”) and vehicle-to-grid (“V2G”) applications. As a “hybrid” philanthropic venture itself, Google.org can apply a broad mix of resources – investments, grants, policy, public engagement – to addressing the climate crisis.

Electricity usage for plug-in vehicles:Ford Escape Plug-In 133.2 Wh/mi, Toyota Prius Plug-in 139.6 Wh/mi for all trips.

Google.org is a hybrid philanthrophy, to address world’s most urgent problems and also managing Google Foundation. Google.org is supported financialy as 1% of Google’s equity and profits. Google.org is as “Social Responsibility” project of Google.

RechargeIT is a Google.org initiative that aims to reduce CO2 emissions, cut oil use, and stabilize the electrical grid by accelerating the adoption of plug-in electric vehicles. We have a demonstration fleet of plug-ins at our headquarters in Mountain View, and we’re collecting and posting data on plug-in performance, investing in innovative technologies, and advocating for the passage of important legislation. Our vision is that one day thousands of cars will be plugging into a greener grid.
