In the video below this post, Google’s CEO Eric SCHMIDT discusses  Google’s ‘Clean Energy 2030′ project. But firstly, i’ll talk about what ‘Clean Energy 2030′ is.

Google continues to invest on our Earth’s future.  They have had 2 energy projects, RE<C and RechargeIT we have mentioned before. ‘Clean Energy 2030′ is Google’s new project about  using Clean Energy and reducing CO2 emissions. The Energy Team at Google has analysed how we could greatly reduce fossil fuel use by 2030

To  the Energy Team at Google, we need immediate action on three fronts:

(1) Reduce demand by doing more with less = More Energy Efficiency

(2) Develop renewable energy that is cheaper than coal = RE<C = Solar, wind, geothermal and others…

(3) Electrify transportation and re-invent our electric grid = Plug-in cars, mass transportation and new electric transmision lines with less loss.

The cost of the Clean Energy 2030 proposal is about $4.4 trillion and savings are even greater ($5.4 trillion), returning a net savings of $1.0 trillion over the 22-year life of the plan.
