LinkedIn Evolving into a Business Social Network with Applications

LinkedIn announces the launch of its applications platform called InApps. LinkedIn apps must be approved before going public to prevent junk apps which plague social networking sites.

Presently, there are 9 applications that you see live on LinkedIn from Amazon, Google, WordPress, Huddle, Six Apart, Box.net, SlideShare, Tripit and LinkedIn itself. These applications can only use LinkedIn’s own Ad network but they can implement a paid subscription service.
